On Monday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Una Assembly constituency to inaugurate and lay the foundation for several ambitious development projects.

With a dedicated budget of Rs 25.79 crore, these projects aim to bolster education and infrastructure within the region. Among the highlights was the inauguration of a new building for the Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), constructed at a cost of Rs 8.79 crore. This facility promises to enhance educational amenities and elevate the academic environment, with plans to transition into a co-educational setup under the CBSE arrangement from the next academic session.

Furthermore, Sukhu unveiled a state-of-the-art academic block at the Government Degree College, outfitted with smart classrooms and modern laboratories, built for Rs 12 crore. In a bid to improve access to higher education for female students from rural and remote areas, the chief minister laid the foundation stone for a 'New Girls Hostel' on the same campus, an initiative estimated at Rs 5 crore.
