The Delhi government has announced an opportunity for assistant teachers working in its schools to enhance their professional qualifications by enrolling in a B.Ed course conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The program will run for the academic session 2025–27 and aims to uplift the quality of education in public schools.
In a letter dated July 21, officials outlined that eligible assistant teachers must submit their applications directly to the Director, SCERT, via their respective heads of schools by July 31. SCERT has allocated 100 seats for this full-time two-year program, with 70 seats reserved specifically for in-service teachers from Delhi government schools.
To qualify, candidates must have completed five years of service by July 7 and should not currently be pursuing or holding a B.Ed degree. They must also have studied at least two subjects from an approved list. Winners of this opportunity will need to present their B.Ed degree upon program completion. This initiative is part of the Delhi government's broader efforts to improve educational standards in public schools.
