Grave Mismanagement: Headmistress and Warden Suspended Amidst Student Protest

The Education department has taken swift action by suspending the headmistress and hostel warden of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Nangnyo amid a growing controversy. The suspension comes as a result of a student protest marching toward Pakke Kessang district HQ, highlighting significant administrative shortcomings.

Initiated on September 14, roughly 90 students embarked on a remarkable 65-kilometer journey to Lemmi to voice their frustration over a teacher shortage. Upon their arrival on the morning of September 15, prompt measures were taken to have the students transported back to the hostel.

This incident has sparked serious discussions about the responsibility of school leaders to address grievances through proper channels. Education commissioner Amjad Tak cited grave mismanagement and indiscipline, raising alarms about the safety and security of the students in institutional care.
