Enquiries from students aiming to pursue education in the United States have dropped by over 46% in the past year, while those for Canada have decreased by around 75% over the past two years, as reported by officials from IDP Education.

IDP Education, established by the Australian government in 1969, is a prominent global provider in international education services, guiding students through course selection, visa processing, and pre-departure planning for destinations such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, and the US.

Piyush Kumar, Regional Director for South Asia, Canada, and Latin America, pointed to geopolitical factors impacting students' plans, particularly concerning the US and Canada. He noted a decline in visa approval rates, influenced by changes in government policies and international disputes, affecting student interest. Meanwhile, the UK and Australia continue to be popular study destinations.
