The Centre is considering a review of the difficulty level of entrance exams, including JEE and NEET, to better align them with the class 12 curriculum and reduce students' reliance on coaching centers, informed sources reveal.
An expert panel is analyzing the data to study whether the toughness of these exams matches the curriculum, addressing concerns from parents and faculty about increased coaching dependence due to a perceived mismatch.
In June, the Ministry of Education formed a nine-member committee to explore issues surrounding coaching, including dummy schools, and to assess the fairness of entrance exams, aiming to propose strategies that minimize coaching center dependency among students transitioning to higher education.
