The National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the NEET (UG) 2026 exam due to allegations of a paper leak, announcing a re-schedule. The Government of India has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate these irregularities further.
In their statement, the NTA emphasized the decision was crucial to maintain transparency and preserve trust within the national examination system. The investigation findings, coordinated with central agencies, led to the cancellation. Future exam dates and admit card details will be communicated officially.
Despite acknowledging the inconvenience for candidates, the NTA stressed the importance of preventing long-term damage to trust in the system. All prior data, including registration and exam centers, will be carried over; no further fees will be charged. The agency urges reliance on verified information only.
