Call for Overhaul: Supreme Court Petitioned to Revamp NEET-UG System

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has petitioned the Supreme Court for a comprehensive overhaul of the National Testing Agency (NTA) amid allegations of repeated NEET-UG paper leaks. Citing this as a 'direct assault' on the fundamental rights of 22.7 lakh students, FAIMA urges an autonomous restructuring.
FAIMA's legal representative, Tanvi Dubey, calls for a high-powered monitoring committee comprising experts like a retired Supreme Court judge, a cybersecurity expert, and a forensic scientist to oversee the transition. They highlight the failure of existing security measures, despite NTA claims of high-tech safeguards.
The petition alleges systemic flaws in NTA's current manual processes and advocates for a transition to a computer-based test model to avoid leaks. The plea also involves the CBI, demanding a status report on the investigation of the paper leak scandal affecting students' futures nationwide.
