The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on Thursday that the government is treating the NEET paper leak case with considerable seriousness and sensitivity. BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra promised strict actions against the culprits, ensuring that no one involved in this malpractice would be exempted from justice.

The NEET (UG) 2026 exam, scheduled for May 3, was canceled by the National Testing Agency on Tuesday, following allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the case and has arrested five individuals so far. The cancellation impacts over 22 lakh medical aspirants and their families, leaving them in a state of uncertainty.

Speaking at the BJP headquarters, Patra termed the matter as both sensitive and distressing, affecting students and their parents alike. He emphasized the government's quick response once a whistleblower revealed the issue, highlighting its readiness to act decisively against the exam mafia responsible for the breach. Patra added that despite previous lapses, robust internal arrangements exist to combat such external malpractices.
