The Kerala Pradesh School Teachers Association (KPSTA) met with Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan, pressing for Congress to retain the education portfolio in the new government.
In a bid to prevent past issues linked to the allocation of the education ministry, KPSTA, associated with Congress, communicated its concerns, citing difficulties encountered when the portfolio was held by alliance parties such as the IUML during previous Congress-led administrations.
State associate general secretary T U Sadath emphasized the need for Congress to manage this key area, aligning with a resolution passed at the KPSTA state camp. The discussions on portfolio allocations are ongoing, with decisions anticipated post-UDF allies' meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.
