The United Democratic Front (UDF) is gearing up for a significant political milestone with the upcoming oath-taking ceremony of its newly elected members.
The Congress party recently confirmed Satheesan as Kerala's next Chief Minister following their decisive victory in the 2026 Assembly elections. The swearing-in ceremony is set to take place on May 18 at 10 am at Lok Bhavan. Discussions within the UDF leadership have revolved around the procedures for the event, the Governor's address, and finalizing selections for the new cabinet.
K Panchayath CPM leader CP John and Indian Union Muslim League's PK Kunhalikutty reported that while the Congress party has nearly finalized its ministerial list, allied parties are still deliberating on their choices. The meeting also served to formally endorse the decisions of the Congress parliamentary party.
