The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has issued directives that schools should utilize the summer vacation for essential maintenance work, ensuring safety and readiness by the new academic session, officials confirmed on Saturday.
According to a circular dated May 11, school heads must identify and prioritize urgent tasks such as civil repairs, whitewashing, plumbing, and electrical system fixes, ensuring these are completed during the break to prevent disruptions when schools reopen.
Collaborating with engineers, school heads are instructed to submit detailed maintenance plans and progress records to MCD's education department, emphasizing the importance of completing all necessary upgrades without delay, prioritizing safety and hygienic conditions for returning students.
