Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has voiced strong criticism against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the wake of the NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy. Gehlot insists that Pradhan should step down, arguing that the minister has lost the moral authority to continue in his position.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the NEET held in May due to allegations of a paper leak. This recurrent issue has incited widespread anger among students. Gehlot's sentiments are echoed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who highlights the problem's persistence over the years without adequate government intervention.
Gandhi held the Modi government accountable for ignoring recommendations aimed at preventing such leaks, while Gehlot raised concerns over stress-related suicides linked to exam pressures, further accusing the government of apathy. The NEET re-examination is set for June 21.
