In an unprecedented move, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced it will release provisional answer keys for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026. This decision aims to enhance transparency and align with candidates' longstanding demand for early access to answer keys, the Commission stated on Monday.
The civil services exam is structured in three stages: preliminary, main, and interview. The provisional answer key initiative allows candidates to make early assessments of their performance and provide feedback through a dedicated online portal. Submissions, supported by credible sources, will be reviewed by expert teams to maintain exam integrity.
UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar highlighted that this effort marks a significant advance in exam processes, ensuring accountability while preserving the merit-based framework. Candidates can submit their representations until May 31, 2026, a move designed to foster participative examination culture.
