The Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026, a critical exam for undergraduate admissions across India, experienced delays on Saturday due to technical glitches at several centers. The National Testing Agency (NTA) reported these issues and swiftly took measures to resolve them.
In response, the NTA announced revised timings for the afternoon session, pushing the exam start from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., ensuring all candidates receive full compensatory time. Despite the technical hiccups, the NTA emphasized that no students would be disadvantaged and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
This isn't the first time CUET-UG has faced operational challenges, with past instances of system failures and scheduling problems. In this instance, both students and parents expressed frustration via social media, citing long waits and poor communication at exam centers.
The CUET-UG has been designed as a single standardized test to replace multiple entrance exams, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. Since its shift to a computer-based format in 2025, it continues to strive for improved efficiency and fairness in assessing candidates nationwide.
