Actor Matthias Schoenaerts is set to appear in the upcoming film 'Violette', directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, renowned for 'Amelie'. The movie adapts Valerie Perrin's acclaimed novel 'Fresh Water for Flowers', a bestseller with three million copies sold worldwide. Joining Schoenaerts are renowned actors Leila Bekhti, Melvil Poupaud, Anouk Grinberg, Sergio Castellitto, and Alban Lenoir.

'Violette' is produced by Carlo Degli Esposti and Nicola Serra from Palomar, along with Thibault Gast and Matthias Weber at 24 25 Films, both under Mediawan's umbrella. Filming commenced on May 5, with a 13-week schedule spanning locations in Burgundy, the Paris region, and Southern France.

The film, co-written by Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant, stars Bekhti as Violette Toussaint, a cemetery caretaker whose tranquil life is disrupted by a mysterious stranger, forcing her to confront her hidden past. As unsolved mysteries surface, Violette discovers that embracing the truth is essential for new beginnings and finding love.
