Strengthening Ties: India and Iran's Cultural and Diplomatic Bond

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her gratitude to Iran for its expression of solidarity following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The appreciation came during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Araghchi's visit marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Iran, occurring amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan post-terrorist attack and 'Operation Sindoor'. Amid these developments, President Murmu emphasized the enduring friendship and shared commitment between India and Iran toward regional peace and prosperity.

Highlighting the growth in bilateral relations over the years, the President noted diverse areas of cooperation including cultural exchanges, trade and energy partnerships, and strategic coordination. She also acknowledged progress on the Chabahar Port project, underscoring the deep-rooted historical and cultural affinities between the two nations.
