Odisha's Major Investment in Tara Tarini Temple's Transformation

In a significant move, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a substantial financial commitment to overhauling the Tara Tarini Temple's infrastructure in Ganjam district. On Thursday, Majhi confirmed that his government has allocated Rs 68 crore for this sacred site's development, aiming to boost its appeal among the country's religious attractions.
The chief minister, during his visit to the 17th-century hilltop temple near Purushottampur, pledged Rs 8 crore for refurbishing the 999 steps, enhancing security, and facilitating better facilities such as a helipad and automatic cooking systems. Majhi's inspection underscored the state's dedication to preserving and upgrading the temple.
Additionally, Rs 30 crore will be used to construct a multi-storey dharamsala, picnic areas, and improve lighting and signage, while Rs 25 crore focuses on river bed and road enhancements. Rs 5 crore is earmarked for maintenance of temple buildings. Majhi expressed hope that these developments would support Odisha's economic and social progress.
