In the midst of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Bollywood luminaries like Varun Dhawan and Parineeti Chopra have stepped forward urging the public to trust verified information sources over deceptive news. Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to remind his followers, "Let's spread correct information only."

Parineeti Chopra echoed this sentiment by posting on her Instagram Story, advocating against the dissemination of false news. She emphasized, "The worst we can do right now is spread fake news and terrify people. Let's rely on official updates and nothing else. Report responsibly."

Simultaneously, actor Sonakshi Sinha condemned news channels for sensationalizing the India-Pakistan conflict. She expressed her frustration, stating, "Our news channels are a joke! These over-dramatised visuals and sound effects with all the screaming and shouting—what are you'll doing? Report facts as they are. Stop sensationalizing war and spreading panic."

The backdrop to these pleas from Bollywood figures is a tense military standoff between India and Pakistan, following the destruction of terrorist camps in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. On the night of May 8 and May 9, the Indian Army successfully countered a series of drone attacks launched by Pakistan along the Western Border and the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The Army has reiterated its commitment to protect the nation's sovereignty.

The Indian Army confirmed that Pakistan's armed forces launched multiple drone attacks along the Western Border, attempting ceasefire violations in Jammu and Kashmir.
