In a bid to integrate climate education into the city's academic landscape, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Climate Action Cell has introduced the Bengaluru Climate Action Club programme. The initiative is set to engage students from educational institutions across Bengaluru, transforming them into climate-conscious citizens.
The Climate Action Clubs, supported by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, aim to develop a generation of young leaders who will champion a sustainable Bengaluru. The programme, targeting schools city-wide, seeks to enrol 100 institutions within its first month, ultimately hoping to involve over 6,000 schools in meaningful environmental activities.
All government, aided, and private schools have been invited to join this transformative city-wide youth movement. The integration of climate education with actionable solutions is designed to empower students, ensuring they contribute actively to Bengaluru's environmental resilience and future sustainability.
