Amitabh Kant, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer, has stepped down from his role as the G20 Sherpa, marking the end of a remarkable 45-year tenure in government service. Appointed in July 2022, Kant was instrumental in steering India's extensive preparations for its G20 Presidency.
In a reflective LinkedIn post, Kant expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to contribute to India's development. He highlighted his leadership in multilateral negotiations, culminating in unanimous consensus on crucial developmental agendas during India's historic G20 presidency.
From his tenure as CEO of NITI Aayog to initiating the 'Incredible India' campaign, Kant's career has been characterized by innovation and transformation.
