The coastal city of Visakhapatnam is set to host a grand celebration on June 21 for the 11th International Yoga Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lead the event at RK Beach, where preparations are underway to accommodate over three lakh yoga enthusiasts.
Chief Minister Naidu announced that the celebration will engage over two crore participants across one lakh-plus locations throughout the state, marking this as a landmark occasion for promoting health and unity. He extended a warm welcome to PM Modi and urged the public to participate en masse.
In anticipation of the event, IT Minister Nara Lokesh inspected a large-scale Yoga drill at Andhra University, where thousands of tribal students performed Yoga poses with precision, aiming to highlight Yoga's benefits amid traditional Vedic chanting. The event is expected to become a historic movement under the banner 'Yogandhra2025'.
