The International Day of Yoga celebrates its global resonance, as noted by India's Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Speaking on its growing international reach, he emphasized how yoga energizes the mind and body, equipping individuals to tackle unprecedented challenges with vitality.
On the occasion, Birla, accompanied by parliamentarians and Lok Sabha officials, participated in yoga asanas within the Parliament House. Leading figures such as Lok Sabha member P P Chaudhary and former Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat were present to commemorate the event.
The theme, 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health,' underscores yoga's vital role in promoting unity and health globally. Initiated by India, the International Day of Yoga was endorsed by a UN resolution in 2014, reflecting international support from 175 countries.
