Ranchi's administration has announced a complete ban on the use of plastics at the upcoming 10-day Rath Yatra fair, commencing June 27. This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation and maintain cleanliness throughout the event.
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri outlined that stall operators and shopkeepers are required to use biodegradable alternatives like leaf-based items and bamboo baskets. The fair will also see stringent security measures, noted DIG-cum-SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, with the installation of watchtowers and CCTV cameras.
Authorities have ensured that essential amenities, including electricity, mobile toilets, drinking water, fire tenders, and ambulances, are adequately arranged for smooth and secure celebrations.
