Mandi district was severely affected by devastating cloudbursts and flash floods earlier this week, with the Seraj Assembly constituency being the most impacted. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur addressed the situation in a press conference on Thursday.
The former chief minister and long-serving MLA from Seraj lamented the destruction of 27 years of development, cautioning that restoring damaged utilities may take years.
Thakur highlighted the immense losses in human lives, livestock, and infrastructure, noting that over 500 houses and multiple bridges were destroyed and a hydropower project was washed away. He urged the government to initiate urgent relief and restoration operations.
