At a ceremony in Pandharpur, Shinde honored the contributions of the 13th-century saint-poet Namdev, who composed over 2,500 'Abhang' poems and spread the message of 'Bhagwat dharma' across India. Receiving the Sant Shiromani Shri Namdev Maharaj Award, Shinde emphasized the importance of sharing Namdev's profound teachings with a broader audience.
Shinde highlighted Namdev's empathy and dedication to the marginalized, referencing his anecdote of compassion for a stray dog as an embodiment of virtuous living. Committed to societal well-being, Shinde vowed to work tirelessly for the public's welfare, underscoring the significance of ensuring that no one experiences hunger or lack of essential services.
