In a significant boost to Meghalaya's agricultural ambitions, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the state's organic produce during the inauguration of the Meghalaya Pineapple Festival in New Delhi. The event spotlighted Meghalaya's signature Kew pineapples and celebrated its transformative agricultural initiatives.
The festival also witnessed the signing of pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Meghalaya government and major companies like Reliance Fresh, Amazon Karigar, and Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters. This collaboration is set to escalate the procurement and distribution of Meghalaya's agricultural products across national and global platforms, thereby enhancing their market reach and visibility.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma outlined the state's Vision@2032, aiming to boost the local economy to USD 16 billion. With ongoing investments in infrastructure such as cold storage and processing units, Meghalaya is on its way to becoming a leading player in agricultural innovation and export.
