A dramatic rescue operation took place on Friday at Silver Beach in Juhu, where two individuals were swept into the sea waters, officials reported.
Rajkumar Govind Subba, aged 22, was saved thanks to the prompt action of Jitendra Tandel, a lifeguard with Drishti services, who intervened before the Mumbai Fire Brigade arrived.
Sadly, 20-year-old Vignesh Murgesh Devendran remains unaccounted for, and the search was suspended at 1:45 pm due to high tide conditions. The public is continually reminded of the monsoon season's perilous sea conditions.
