A student from Aligarh Muslim University has achieved an extraordinary feat, becoming the first from her university to swim the English Channel. On Saturday, AMU announced that BPEd student Afrin Jabee completed a solo swim, braving the icy waters and challenging currents.
Afrin, originating from a humble background in West Bengal, swam the 34-kilometer stretch from Dover to France on July 29. She completed the swim in 13 hours and 13 minutes, bringing immense pride to her university and country.
The Vice Chancellor of AMU, Professor Naima Khatoon, celebrated this accomplishment, highlighting Afrin's determination as a beacon of inspiration for future generations of students. She expressed the university's pride in Afrin's groundbreaking achievement.
