Shibu Soren, an influential figure in Indian politics and known for his relentless advocacy of tribal rights, has passed away. The former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha died at the age of 81 while being treated for kidney-related ailments in a Delhi hospital on Monday.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his condolences, describing Soren as a stalwart of tribal rights. 'Saddened to learn about the passing of Shibu Soren Ji, my deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and the people of Jharkhand. May his soul attain eternal peace,' Khandu conveyed in a social media post.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also paid tribute, remembering Soren as a towering figure in Indian politics. 'A tireless advocate for the rights of tribal communities, his contributions to public life and social justice will be remembered,' Mein stated, extending his heartfelt condolences to Soren's family and loved ones.
