Amidst a deeply emotional atmosphere, the mortal remains of Shibu Soren, a revered tribal leader and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha patriarch, were brought to his residence on Monday. Family members, party workers, and political leaders flocked to offer their final respects to the iconic figure affectionately known as Dishom Guru.
Shibu Soren, who passed away at 81 in New Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital following kidney-related health issues, was flown from Delhi to Ranchi. His son, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with other family members, oversaw the transference from the airport to his home.
The tribal leader's death marks the end of a significant chapter in Jharkhand's political history. An outpouring of grief and remembrance filled the streets, with throngs of mourners lining the roads during the funeral procession. The late leader will be laid to rest in his native village of Nemra, Ramgarh district.
