Netflix announced a new crime drama, 'Inspector Zende', starring Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh, set to stream from September 5. The film, inspired by real events, depicts the pursuit of the infamous 'Swimsuit Killer' by Inspector Madhukar Zende in Mumbai's bustling 1970s-'80s landscape.

Inspired by the real-life exploits of Charles Sobhraj, the drama explores the cat-and-mouse game between Bajpayee's character and Sarbh's notorious criminal, with a blend of crime, comedy, and nostalgia. The story pays homage to classic police work and 'jugaadu' justice, marking Chinmay D Mandlekar's Hindi directorial debut.

Produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut under Northern Lights Films, 'Inspector Zende' seeks to offer a fresh take on traditional crime stories, melding humor and crime, with Netflix's global platform backing distinctive narratives.
