In a troubling development for comedian Kapil Sharma, his newly-opened Kap's Cafe in Surrey, Canada, has been targeted by gunfire twice in less than a month. According to Surrey Police Service (SPS), the latest incident occurred in the early morning hours on August 7, 2025, at the Newton neighbourhood location.
SPS officers responded to reports of shots fired at the café's 8400 block of 120 Street establishment. While the building's windows suffered damage, and multiple shots were fired, staff on the premises thankfully remained unharmed. This follows an earlier shooting on July 10, raising security concerns for the business.
Despite the violence, Kap's Cafe, which opened its doors on July 4 in Surrey, maintains its commitment to fostering community spirit. A statement from the café expressed determination not to let violence overshadow their mission of sharing warmth, community, and joy through coffee and conversation.
