A case has been registered against individuals accused of staging a false food contamination incident at Rameshwaram Cafe's Kempegowda airport outlet in a bid to extort money. The airport police acted based on a complaint from the cafe's Operations Head.
The complaint notes that the alleged incident involved a public disruption by the group, falsely claiming an insect was found in the food. The group threatened to release a video on social media if not compensated, later demanding Rs 25 lakh to protect the cafe's reputation.
Rameshwaram Cafe's founder, Divya Raghav, adamantly denied these accusations, emphasizing the cafe's strict adherence to hygiene and quality protocols. The cafe's management has provided evidence to authorities, aiming to prevent future blackmail attempts.
