In the past 24 hours, four people have tragically lost their lives, and two others have been injured due to electrocution in Hyderabad and Kamareddy, Telangana. The accidents occurred during Ganesh festival celebrations as idols being transported or pandals being set up came into contact with high-tension wires.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has taken immediate action following these incidents. He instructed energy department officials to remove cable wires from poles urgently and emphasized that unauthorized electricity connections should be eliminated to prevent further tragedies.
Amid the tragic news, the Telangana Human Rights Commission has called for a comprehensive report on the incidents. Meanwhile, the Cellular Operators Association of India has raised concerns as cable removals have disrupted internet services in Hyderabad due to the aggressive cutting of optical fiber cables.
