A family from the Netherlands arrived in Ballia district with the hope of reconnecting with their ancestral roots, only to leave dejected after failing to find any trace of their forefathers' origins.
Jitendra Chatta, marking the fifth generation since indentured labourer Sundar Prasad left for Suriname in 1892, accompanied his family, driven by a desire to touch the soil of his ancestors. Despite their inquiry efforts spanning locals and old records, their quest did not yield the answers they sought.
While the family returned home empty-handed, Jitendra's daughter, Aishwarya, maintained her resolve to persist with the search, asserting that the journey was far from over.
