In East Java, rescuers are in a critical race against time to save approximately 60 teenagers trapped under debris after the Al Khoziny school collapsed due to foundational issues. Disaster authorities confirm that construction work overloaded the building's upper floors, leading to the tragic incident.

Abdul Muhari, a spokesperson for the disaster mitigation agency, informed that 59 individuals are still unaccounted for, based on the school's absence logs and reports from worried families. Despite using motion detectors and scanners, rescuers have yet to detect any signs of life, according to Emi Freezer, a search and rescue agency official.

Rescuers donned their signature orange uniforms and maneuvered through narrow passages to reach the trapped students. Yudhi Bramantyo, operations director at the agency, reported a death toll of six late Wednesday, although official figures remain at five. A crane is actively being used to move lighter debris, as families cling to hope of reuniting with their loved ones.
