Engineering Student Assailed at Dandiya Event

A 21-year-old engineering student was reportedly assaulted during a Dandiya event held at a local hotel, police said Thursday. The incident unfolded on September 29 and authorities were promptly informed.

The student, accompanied by two friends, attended the event and was allegedly attacked by two unidentified individuals, resulting in minor injuries. The victim lodged a complaint at the Panjagutta Police Station. Officers registered the case and detained two suspects.

Police officials noted that the altercation stemmed from suspicions of the student's misconduct with female participants. However, it was clarified that no inappropriate behavior occurred. Reports suggesting a community-based motive for the assault were refuted by the police.
