Honoring Gandhi: A Legacy of Peace and Unity

West Bengal marked the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with Governor CV Ananda Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee leading the tributes. Both leaders emphasized Gandhi's perpetual influence through his teachings of peace, non-violence, and unity.

Mamata Banerjee referred to Gandhi as a 'great leader', whose name will be 'etched in golden letters' in history. She highlighted his timeless messages of non-violence and unity, urging citizens to uphold these values amid growing societal divides.

The day's commemorations included events at Gandhi Ghat and the Gandhi statue in Kolkata, symbolizing a collective pledge to carry forward his vision for an inclusive and harmonious India, as echoed by Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
