Series creator Steven Knight revealed that the show's newest chapters will revisit Birmingham in 1953, capturing the city's dramatic post-war resurgence.
Scheduled to be filmed at the iconic Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham, the upcoming series will feature six episodes in each installment. The previous six seasons chronicled the Shelby gang's rise, led by Cillian Murphy's character, Tommy Shelby. The new series promises to continue the gritty yet stylized storytelling that has captivated global audiences.
BBC Director of Drama Lindsay Salt hailed the series as game-changing and praised Steven Knight's compelling scripts. Besides the series, a feature film with Murphy reprising his role is underway, produced by Garrison Drama. The shows will premiere on BBC One and be available for streaming on Netflix.
