In a significant breakthrough, the Special Cell of Delhi Police apprehended two notorious criminals in Delhi's Kapashera area following an intense encounter. According to Additional CP Pramod Singh Kushwaha, the arrested individuals, Akash Rajput from Sri Ganganagar and Mahipal from Bharatpur, both in Rajasthan, were involved in serious criminal cases including ransom shooting and kidnapping-for-ransom incidents.
Akash Rajput, linked with notorious expatriate gangsters, had been evading authorities since his involvement in a 2022 ransom shooting outside a hospital. The Rajasthan Police had offered a reward for his capture. Meanwhile, Mahipal, on bail for a shooting incident, had collaborated with Rajput as they sought to evade law enforcement.
In a separate operation, Delhi Police's crime branch, in partnership with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, conducted raids on illicit manufacturing units producing adulterated desi ghee, seizing 1,625 kg of the product. Six arrests were made. Additionally, police seized a vast cache of illegal firecrackers, stored under unsafe conditions, underscoring the ongoing efforts to safeguard public well-being. Further investigations continue.
