Empowering India through Tribal and Women's Development in Odisha

President Droupadi Murmu launched projects valued at Rs 158 crore in Rourkela, Odisha, stressing that true national development involves uplifting women and tribals. Several sites were inaugurated, including a Planetarium and Science Centre, reflecting the state's commitment to social progress.

Speaking at the 'Adi Paraba-2026' event, President Murmu emphasized empowering women, who form half of the population, to achieve India's development goals by 2047. She underlined the significance of tribal welfare, urging initiatives that focus on both women and tribal communities' economic advancement.

President Murmu praised Sundergarh for its natural and cultural richness while highlighting Rourkela's contributions to Odisha's art and sports. Her visit included cultural interactions and was graced by key government officials, including Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram.
