Lights, Camera, Action: Kashmir Gears Up for International Film Fest

The Jammu and Kashmir government is launching an international film festival, mirroring the renowned annual event in Goa. This strategic move aims to boost cinema, culture, and tourism within the region.

During a high-level meeting, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo directed the Department of Information and Public Relations to commence preparations for this inaugural event. Scheduled after the Amarnath Yatra's conclusion on August 28, the festival will follow a professional and national stature akin to India's International Film Festival in Goa.

To ensure flawless execution, a dedicated committee and experienced agency will be engaged. The event will feature film screenings at diverse scenic locations including Bhaderwah, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and Jammu, thus promoting tourism and cultural exchange nationwide.
