Empowering the Unheard: Maharashtra's Nomadic Tribes Seek Justice

On Wednesday, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma welcomed representatives from a nomadic tribes welfare group to discuss pressing issues faced by backward nomadic and denotified communities in the state. The meeting shone a light on several serious concerns, including education, healthcare, and necessary governmental documentation.

The representatives, led by Uddhav Kale of the Bhatke Vimukt Vikas Parishad, extended an invitation to the governor to visit Eklavya Vidya Sankul in the Tuljapur taluka of Dharashiv district. This gesture was part of a broader attempt to engage state officials with the grassroots realities of these communities.

Additionally, the delegation urged the governor to attend a distribution program for crucial documents, scheduled on Vimukt Day, August 31. In response, Varma promised that community representatives would be invited to Lok Bhavan, aiming to delve deeper into the unique challenges they face and work towards viable solutions.
