In a significant development, a court in Nashik has granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) a two-day transit remand of Shubham Khairnar, implicated in the NEET paper leak scandal.
Khairnar, a 30-year-old resident of Nandgaon, Nashik, was arrested late Tuesday night and brought before a magistrate's court. The CBI sought his transit remand for transferring him to Delhi to further investigate potential links to other suspects across state lines.
This move follows the cancellation of the NEET (UG) 2026 exam on May 3, amid allegations of irregularities. The crime branch unit of Nashik Police detained Khairnar on request from Rajasthan Police.
