At Cannes Next on May 14, 2026, Eros Innovation unveiled 'AI in Asia,' a program spotlighting the burgeoning influence of artificial intelligence across Asia's media and entertainment sectors. This event, hosted at Village Innovation, Pantiero, featured more than 200 industry leaders, including studio heads and technology innovators, all gathered to explore the evolving dynamics of sovereign AI and its impact on storytelling and film financing.

The discussion was anchored by Eros Innovation's launch of Large Cultural Models (LCMs), introduced at the IndiaAI Summit in New Delhi as a sovereign AI initiative. With a foundation of 1.5 trillion rights-cleared cultural tokens, these LCMs set the stage for global discussions as Eros Universe prepares for its worldwide debut in June 2026. Kishore Lulla, the founder of Eros Innovation, emphasized AI's potential to expand creativity without replacing it, likening the evolution to the industry's previous embrace of visual effects.

The program's opening keynote was delivered by Lulla, followed by a conversation featuring Joerg Bachmaier, CEO of Studio Babelsberg, on AI's role in film production. Panels at the event delved into topics such as AI-native storytelling and the future of film financing, emphasizing the enhancement of creative processes and new economic models driven by AI advancements.
