The Students' Federation of India (SFI) unit at Jamia Millia Islamia has voiced strong objections to the university's involvement in what they allege is an RSS-linked cultural event. The SFI claims that the initiative counters the secular and democratic ethos that Jamia stands for.
In an official statement, the SFI criticized the university administration for setting up a 'welcome gate' for the Janjati Sanskritik Samagam, an event they argue is part of a broader political maneuver aimed at communalizing and appropriating Adivasi identities.
The SFI has urged the Jamia administration to clarify its stance on supporting such events, demanding a reaffirmation of the university's commitment to democratic and secular values amid their ongoing opposition to RSS-associated activities on campus.
