Rahul Gandhi met the grieving family of Pradeep Meghwal, a NEET aspirant who died by suicide in Sikar, Rajasthan. Gandhi attributed the tragedy to systemic corruption and sought accountability from Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Gandhi expressed his empathy for Meghwal's family in a message on X, highlighting widespread student pressure and diminished trust in educational integrity. He accused the government of allowing mafias to compromise the examination system and demanded urgent reforms.
During his visit, Gandhi also engaged with other NEET aspirants, who shared their frustration and loss of faith in the system. He urged the Modi government to take definitive action and forewarned that the youth would drive change against the prevalent corruption and indifference.
The controversy relates to the May 3 NEET-UG exam, which was annulled due to a paper leak. The Congress escalated their demands for stricter laws against such leaks, emphasizing zero tolerance and transparent governance.
