Romania's OMV Petrom, in collaboration with Romgaz, has secured a crucial deal by signing a three-year contract to supply gas from the anticipated Black Sea offshore project, Neptun Deep, to Moldova. This was announced in a statement by the Romanian energy ministry on Wednesday.

OMV Petrom and Romgaz are jointly developing the Neptun Deep project, which promises substantial gas reserves. However, the agreement to supply Moldova accounts for less than 1% of the estimated reserves available from the project, according to the energy ministry.

The move is seen as a strategic step in strengthening regional energy ties and expanding the scope of the Neptun Deep project beyond Romania. This cooperation not only opens new markets but also enhances the energy security of the region.
