Fifteen civilians have been tragically killed, and 43 injured following artillery fire by the Pakistan Army on the border regions of Poonch and Tangdhar since last night, defense sources reported Wednesday. The shelling targeted civilian areas, causing widespread panic amongst villagers and damaging multiple homes.

In retaliation, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor,' targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the precision and sensitivity of the operation, emphasizing efforts to minimize civilian casualties.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the assault on the Central Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib in Poonch, resulting in the deaths of three Gursikhs. Leaders are calling for compensation for the affected families, as tensions escalate in the Jammu and Kashmir region.
