The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has firmly resolved not to allocate lands adjacent to the sacred seven hills to private entities, emphasizing the preservation of this globally renowned spiritual site, according to temple authorities.
The TTD Board declared its intention to exchange 24.68 acres in Survey No. 604 of Peruru village, Tirupati Rural Mandal, owned by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA), with a similar-sized parcel belonging to TTD at Survey No. 588-A of Tirupati Urban. To further consolidate this initiative, an additional swap of 10.32 acres from APTA's holdings in the same survey will be exchanged for TTD's equivalent land, as sanctioned by the Board. The Board has urged the state government to expedite these proceedings.
A significant meeting featuring TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao, Additional EO C.H. Venkayya Chowdary, JEO Veerabrahmam, and board members, including V. Prashanthi Reddy and Panabaka Lakshmi, was convened to address these developments. The meeting also saw participation from important government officials, both in-person and virtually, including notable figures from the Endowments Department.
Furthermore, a directive from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu underscores a commitment to enhancing pilgrim services and maintaining the sacredness of the Tirumala temple. His review session at the State Secretariat stressed that state reputation hinges on the satisfaction of pilgrims visiting this eminent religious site.
